James Corden Shares Behind The Scenes Shot Of Gavin & Stacey Rehearsals

James Corden has shared the first behind the scenes photo from the upcoming Gavin & Stacey Christmas special.

In the black and white snapshot the stars of the show can be seen sat around a table with, presumably, the new scripts in front of them.

He captioned the photo, 'Rehearsals!', so it's probably safe to assume that we're looking at the first read-through of the new episode. Exciting, eh?

Fans are already very excited about the forthcoming special, which was announced by Corden on Twitter.

Especially when it was revealed that a bunch of our favourites would be back, including Rob Byrdon as Uncle Bryn, Larry Lamb as Mick and Alison Steadman returning as Pam.

Of course, Joanna Page, better known as Stacey to fans, and Mathew Horne (Gavin) will be back and this rehearsals photo shows the gang reunited.

Show creators Corden and Ruth Jones, who also stars as Nessa, said in a statement via the BBC: "Over the last ten years we've talked a lot about Gavin and Stacey - where they might be today and what their lives might look like.

"And so, in secret we took the plunge and wrote this one hour special. We've loved revisiting Barry and Essex again and bringing the characters back together has been a joy. We're so excited to get the chance to work with our fabulous cast and crew once more and to give fans of the show a festive treat this Christmas. Thank you, BBC, for helping to make this happen."

Chuffed members of the cast also took to Twitter to share their delight with being back in Barry.

Page posted: "I'm so excited! It's happening!! See you at Christmas!!!!!! Can't wait to get on the slots down Barry again!!"

While Lamb, revealed that it had been tough keeping quiet about the new episode, writing: "So it's official...G&S rides again .. we're doing a 2019 Christmas special ....a treat for the millions of you who've waited so patiently... love to you all ..and Happy Christmas!!!!

"And try not being able to let this little secret out of the bag since Smiffie called from LA about two months ago ... I'm going to get a lot of grief from some very dear friends !!! But anyway..."
