John Barrowman Shaved His ‘Man Bits’ Before Going Into I’m A Celebrity Jungle

John Barrowman Shaved His ‘Man Bits’ Before Going Into I’m A Celebrity Jungle

“I shaved all my man bits, my legs, my arm pits, my chest hair and my butt crack and so there is no chance of the critters getting caught."

You'd imagine there's a fair bit of prep that celebrities go through before entering the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! jungle - hitting the gym so that they're fighting fit for all those bushtucker trials, mentally psyching themselves up for all those creepy crawlies, that kind of thing.

But it seems John Barrowman is less arsed about all that, and has been focusing on an area that's a little more, ahem, intimate.

He told the Mirror he's done everything he can to avoid being bitten in the jungle - having shaved here, there and everywhere so that he's completely hair-free.

Barrowman, 51, said: "I shaved all my man bits, my legs, my arm pits, my chest hair and my butt crack and so there is no chance of the critters getting caught in my man-hair."

Well, fair dos. Sounds like there might some logic there, albeit with a lot of effort.

Aside from the shaving, Barrowman has said he's not phased by the prospect of getting his kit off on the show.

"I haven't got any qualms about stripping off at all," he continued.

"I'm now 51 and my body has changed a little bit and I'm still proud of who I am and what I look like.

"I'm looking forward to losing my love handles but I think I still look good for my age."

Before going on I'm A Celeb, he did admit to being scared of confined spaces and jumping out of planes.

But now that he's hair-free, he's not too worried about the barrage of bushtucker trials that await him - saying in his pre-jungle interview: "The bushtucker trials don't scare me, they concern me. Eating bums, balls and willies, I'm totally cool with."

Barrowman added: " I like a challenge, I like a competition and I might make some new friends out of it.

"To be blunt, it will also be nice to have some 'me' time! Nobody will be able to get in touch, text or email. I know it's a game and I am not going in to be a misery."

He also revealed that if he were to come out victorious on the show, he would want to be the first 'gender fluid' winner.

"I would be over the moon if I won," he said.

"I would be the King and Queen of the Jungle. I want both crowns."

I'm a Celeb... continues tonight on ITV.
