It is arguably the biggest and best movie franchise of all time and is still adored the world over, more than 40 years since the first film, Star Wars: A New Hope, was released.
The series is followed religiously by an army of devoted fans, who have stuck with it through thick and thin.

We don't need to go back too far, only to the likes of The Phantom Menace, Attack of The Clones, and Revenge of The Sith, to remember when the saga was on its arse.
But in recent years Disney have sought to rectify past mistakes, and are currently in the middle of a new trilogy, this time telling the story of the rebellion and their battles with the burgeoning imperial forces.
Next year will see the release of the third film in the series - the ninth overall - which will follow on from the hugely successful The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.
As yet untitled fans have been waiting patiently for any news, great or small, on the upcoming blockbuster.

Well, one of the film's stars, John Boyega, who plays the imperial turncoat 'Finn', may have dropped a hint about where the next movie will take place.
According to a 'preview' piece in film magazine Empire, the 23-year-old Londoner has confirmed a timescale for the ninth film.
The article said: "John Boyega has confirmed the film takes place one year after the events of The Last Jedi."
For some fans this seems to have come out of the blue, as Disney have been tight-lipped on the upcoming movie.

One fan went directly to Empire to ask them when Boyega confirmed this, as they couldn't find the interview anywhere.
Eager to get to the bottom of this,Twitter user Riri shared a picture of the article and wrote: "This months Empire magazine... did i miss something? "John Boyega confirmed the film takes place roughly one year after the events of The Last Jedi" ????"
She then added: "@empiremagazine please confirm?"

The fan even asked a Spielberg expert and writer whether the claims were true. She wrote: "Hello @MrIanFreer could you confirm if this is a quote from previous interviews with John or a quote directly to Empire?"
What we do know for sure is that Episode IX will see the late Carrie Fisher once more play the iconic Princess Leia, by using previously unreleased footage from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Director J.J. Abrams said: "We desperately loved Carrie Fisher. Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without her eluded us. We were never going to recast, or use a CG character.

"With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie's legacy and role as Leia in Episode IX by using unseen footage we shot together in Episode VII."
Star Wars: Episode IX is set for release on December 20th 2019.
