Keanu Reeves Says He Will Play John Wick As Long As Audiences Want Him To

“As far as my legs can take me. As far as the audience wants to go.”

The third movie is yet to hit the big screen, but John Wick actor Keanu Reeves has already announced he's keen to keep on making the films as long as the audience still wants 'em.

The franchise continues with John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, released on 17 May (or 16 May for UK fans), which will see Wick with a $14 million bounty on his head and every assassin in the city after him. Not ideal, eh?

In a recent interview with GQ, 54-year-old Reeves was asked how long he would continue in the role, to which he replied: "As far as my legs can take me. As far as the audience wants to go."

And if the buzz surrounding the new movie is anything to go by then that will be a fairly long time - well, assuming his legs hold out.

Reeves is well-known for his commitment to his roles, and was recently filmed practising with former Navy SEAL and Vigilance Elite owner Shawn Ryan, who was on-hand to give the star a few tips on gun slinging, taking aim and generally bad-assery.

The John Wick franchise kicked off back in 2014 and has heard an army of loyal fans who can't wait to see what the latest movie will hold.

Opening up about the character, Reeves told GQ: "He's got this beautiful, tragic conundrum - these two selves. The John who was married, and John Wick, the assassin. John wants to be free. But the only way he knows how is through John Wick. And John Wick keeps fucking killing people and breaking rules. We're really watching a person fight for their life and their soul."

For now, details about the upcoming are kept pretty well under wraps - but we do know that Wick has been booted out of the Continental Hotel in New York City, which had acted as a sort of safe space for criminals.

We also know that Halle Berry will be starring as a character called Sofia. Reeves told EW: "She has a past with John. I end up going to find her to see if she can help me."

In a similar style to Wick, Sofia also has a four-legged friend - two in fact.

"Whereas John's puppy was symbolic of his wife," Reeves added. "Halle's two dogs are symbolic of someone she's lost."

Thankfully, there's not too long a wait until we find out more about Sofia, her dogs and how Wick ended up with those cuts all over his face in the official film poster.
