Remember Nickelodeon? Of course you do. If you're a certain age, you probably spent hours sat in front of loads of shows that the network put out - Sister Sister, Sabrina the Teenage Witch or maybe even Kenan and Kel.

Well, it turns out that Kenan and Kel are to be reunited again, just not in the way that you might immediately think.

You see, another popular Nickelodeon show, Double Dare, is getting a reboot for the 21st century and it's going to see the two 90s TV legends pitted against one another as contestants.

Nickelodeon

If you don't remember Double Dare, it was a late 80s, early 90s game show hosted by Marc Summers in which contestants answered questions and performed some challenges. These challenges were usually very messy and involved slime, or some other horrible substance.

After a short revival back in 2000, it is now being resurrected once more. But this time, instead of Summers, it's going to be YouTube star Liza Koshy hosting.

As well as bringing back the classic game show, Kenan and Kel are due to star in a special episode as contestants. This might come as a bit of a surprise to anyone who believes the horrible rumours from years ago that Kel was dead.

He's not dead. Kel in recent times.

He is alive and well, and told EW: "I am so excited to be playing on Double Dare and for whole new generation of kids to experience this iconic game show.

"This episode will be double special because Kenan and I will be playing against each other and we are both huge fans of Double Dare! I can't wait to see the super talented Liza Koshy rock it as the new host!"

The episode with Kenan and Kel will be shown later this summer, but the new series starts pretty soon. Although Marc Summers will be on screen, he will not be hosting and warned that anyone expecting a complete rehash of the old show will be disappointed.

Here's Kenan.

In an interview with TV Line, he said: "If you are tuning in to see what Double Dare was, it's not that, it's something different. It's something for 2018."

He did say that they've kept a few of the classic games, but they've gone bigger and bigger to try to take the show up a level.

Summers continued: "It's bigger. It's louder. The obstacle course may be about 20 percent bigger than it was back in the day. It's a mixture of old and new."
