People go on holiday, get pissed and then get a shit tattoo. I write about it all the time, and to be honest I always think it's pretty good banter. That said, this bloke I just found out about probably regrets getting his tattoos more than most.

Three years ago Liam Bailey, a 28-year-old father-of-two, chose to drunkenly emblazon himself with copy-cat tattoos of hip-hop legend Tupac Shakur (RIP).

But he has now admitted he is too ashamed to take his top off when his children are around, branding the tattoos which emulate the deceased rapper as 'disgraceful'.

He will now appear on the new series of Channel 5's Tattoo Disasters UK.

"Looking back now I think 'why did I do that'?' Liam said. "People now think I am some sort of thug but I am not like that at all.

"As a dad, the swear word on my back is just disgraceful. My kids ask "what is that drawing on you?" but luckily they don't understand the meaning of the words yet."

He got 'THUG LIFE' tattooed across his abdomen, along with a second tattoo that reads 'fuck the world' over a giant cross covering his back, just like Tupac had.

But Liam, a former soldier with the Royal Artillery, said the tattoos do not reflect who he is as a person anymore - presumably he's a bigger fan of 'the world now' - and he said he's ashamed of them now that he is a father to daughter, Amelia, and son, Elliot.

Liam's mother also appeared on the show and wept as she described how much she hates the tattoos.

"He is not the person portrayed on his back, he is a nice lad. It broke my heart when he had it done and I can't wait for it to be covered up," she wept.

To be honest I think he should keep the tattoos. Tupac was a sick musician and it's understandable that he'd want to emulate him.

Anyway, the story has a happy ending with the lad getting the tattoos covered up.

The new series of Tattoo Disasters UK starts on Channel 5 Monday at 10pm
