Liam Hemsworth is one of Hollywood's most bankable leading men and a surefire hit with audiences - not in the least bit because he's bloody beautiful.
His brothers, Chris Hemsworth (aka Thor from everything) and Luke Hemsworth (Ashley from Westworld) are just as successful. Not bad for a group of Aussie lads who got their start on perennial wastes of time like Neighbours and Home and Away.
There's probably something to be said about the carefree Australian lifestyle, amazing weather and perfect conditions for outdoor activities in engendering the creation of beautiful people, but deep down, it generally comes back to genetics.

You'll be surprised, then, to hear that Hemsworth senior is absolutely bloody ripped. Liam posted a photo of his father to Instagram on Wednesday with the caption: "Climbed a mountain with the oldies this morning and came across a rattlesnake after telling my brother there were no rattlesnakes in this area! Ha!"
The family in-joke was lost on the most of the internet however - they were distracted by Hemsworth senior. The photo has managed over 500,000 likes on Instagram and a legion of comments on Twitter, the majority of which focussed on his dear Papa.

"Is your dad going to audition for Thor 4? He's buff!" wrote one, while another posted "Whoa Papa Hemsworth is shredded."
"WTF. I think the dad might be the hottest of them all and the mum is amazing. Explains so many things," wrote another, tweeting what we were all thinking.
Some others went for his mam, with one Instagrammer commenting "Everyone's talking bout dads bod but not moms legs for days. Genetic games strong."
Of course, if my Da got his top off on one of his hikes in the hills, he'd probably get a fair few comments as well. Though his might include 'get out from behind those bushes'.

But y'know, that's why my Dad's got shrivelled freaks for kids who sit inside rather than pretending they're Thor or starring in Home and Away, so perhaps the apple doesn't fall that far from the tree after all.
