Macaulay Culkin Watches 'Home Alone' With Girlfriend And Mutters His Lines

It's that time of year again, when we all enjoy the adventures of Kevin McAllister - even the guy who played him

It's one of the most well-known and well-loved Christmas films of all time - with the festive period creeping up on us, it's just about time to dust off your copy of Home Alone and re-watch the classic for the 50th time.

But let's face it, no matter how many times people watch it, the iconic children's movie never seems to get old.

One person for whom you would the film might have lost a bit of its magic, however, is the former child star Macaulay Culkin - you know, the person in it...?

In what is undeniably his most famous role, the 38-year-old played the sweet yet devilishly cunning eight-year-old Kevin McCallister, who, after being left 'home alone' by his forgetful parents as they - and their extended family - swan off to Paris, must defend his house from two persistent thieves.

Well, apparently, Mac isn't that sick of it. In fact, he still watches the film and knows all of the lines - don't we all?

In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Culkin spoke about how he begins to get a lot more attention at this time of year, and in the past some of his old girlfriends have asked if they can watch the movie classic with him.

He said: "I do get recognised more this time of year... It's there, it's like a thing, like you have a new girlfriend and you're flipping through the channels and there's Home Alone, and she's like, 'Huh? You wanna watch it?'

"You want to watch Home Alone with Macaulay Culkin, don't you?

"And I have indulged that. Most of the time I'm just muttering my lines under my breath. 'Keep the change, ya filthy animal.'"

Laughing, he then added: "Whatever gets her motor running, I guess."

Whether they're the film's star or not, people who talk through films are among the worst around, not to mention actually quoting lines. Pack it in, Culkin.

But he wasn't just there to talk about old times. Fallon then moved onto the real reason for Culkin's visit, which was to discuss a poll asking fans to vote on a new middle name for the Richie Rich star.

The stunt is being run from his website, bunnyears.com and users can choose from a selection of five names (with the choices being 'Shark Week', his brother's name 'Keiran', 'TheMcRibIsBack', 'Publicity Stunt' and the straightforward 'Macaulay Culkin'), and he says he will legally switch to the winning moniker.

He said: "I was staring at my passport recently and I was looking over my middle name, my current name is Macauley Carson Culkin, it's very Irish. So I thought I should probably spruce up my name a little bit."
