Netflix's newest release Bird Box has been hailed as one of their scariest yet, but some people seem to be more distracted with one rapper's cameo.

People have spotted Machine Gun Kelly in the film and they are completely losing their shit over it.

MGK takes on the role of Felix and is one of the characters holed up in the house at the beginning of the film as a mysterious force starts to wreak havoc over everything.

And as you might expect, fans have been pretty damn excited to discover the rapper appearing in the film, with one person tweeting: "Thought the crackhead in Bird Box was cute and found out it was Machine Gun Kelly."

Another said: "Did I see Machine Gun Kelly in Bird Box or was I trippin."

While a third person commented: "It's been about 12 hours since I finished Bird Box and all I've been thinking about is how Machine Gun Kelly is in a cast that has Sandra Bullock, John Malkovich, Trevante Rhodes and Lil Rel Howery. 2018 worked in mysterious ways."

The film centres around a world where supernatural entities that take the appearance of their victims' worst fears, regrets, and losses, causing them to die by suicide.

In an interview with Galore, 28-year-old rapper MGK describes his character as a 'pill-popper' and drops an intensely creepy fact about the filming location.

He said: "I play a pill popper named Felix who's out for a 'delivery' when the epidemic breaks out. Wild fact about the house we shot in is that [US cult leader] Charles Manson used to stay there right before he committed his murders.

"The director made us all (Sandy included) sit in one room together all day until it was time to shoot. It really made us go a little crazy and bonded us at the same time, which is what happens in the film."

In Bird Box MGK's character Felix, like his real-life counterpart, is pretty keen on dropping the odd expletive, memorably saying the group are 'so fucking fucked' several times in the early stages.

But romance still catches up with the potty-mouthed wordsmith, as his character seems to hit it off with Rosa Salazar's character, Lucy, and the pair even get up to a bit more than flirting on their first night in the house.

The film also stars Trevante Rhodes, John Malkovich, Danielle Macdonald and Sandra Bullock, while the latter - who has been praised highly for her role - plays a mother-of-two experiencing a struggle just to stay alive.

The film's synopsis explains: "When a mysterious force decimates the world's population, only one thing is certain: if you see it, you take your life."

With that in mind - a group of survivors, including Bullock and her kids, decide to cover all windows in the house and blindfold themselves whenever they must venture outside.

Bird Box may be the film to snap you right out of any post-festive blues.
