Mighty Ducks Stars Reunite At NHL Game In New York

Good to see that the ducks still fly together...

The stars of the Mighty Ducks franchise have reunited in New York this weekend to support their namesakes at an National Hockey League game - and BOY, was it a blast from the past. They even took to the ice to mark the occasion:

Garette Ratliff Henson (who you'll remember as Guy Germaine), Vinent LaRusso (Adam Banks) and Danny Tamberelli (Tommy Duncan) were joined by D2 and D3 co-stars Colombe Jacobsen (Julie 'The Cat' Gaffney') and Saturday Night Live star Kenan Thompson, who starred as Russ Tyler in both sequels.

Sadly no sign of their former coach, Emilio Estevez, but perhaps these kids are old enough to look after themselves these days... given that they're all in their mid 30s and early 40s now.

A tweet from the Anaheim Ducks social media feed said the team had been joined by some 'mighty great people' at Sunday's game, adding that they'd stuck around to meet a few of the players afterwards.

Tamberelli wrote on Instagram: "What a sweet day!! Thanks to the @anaheimducks for a great day reliving my #mightyducks season with some old friends!"

"THIS IS EVERYTHING," one fan wrote.

A second said: "You have NO idea how happy this made me!!"

Someone else commented: "I mean, it's only been 25 years or more since you skated last probably... you're doing awesome! Thanks for bringing back childhood memories and inspiring me to start playing all those years ago!"

Another wrote: "@colombedujour doesn't look like she's aged at all! You look the same! What's your secret?!"

The Mighty Ducks reunion really was a blast from the past.
Buena Vista Pictures

The gang came back together at the weekend for a match between the Anaheim Ducks and the New York Islanders at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.

The first film of the series was released way back in 1992 - yep, that's over 25 years ago now - while its follow-up, D2: The Mighty Ducks landed in 1994, before a third D3: The Mighty Ducks, hit cinemas in 1996.

Since then, many of its stars have managed to forge solid acting careers, including Dawson's Creek and Shutter actor Joshua Jackson and, perhaps the biggest success story, Kenan Thompson.
