According to the official 'See What's Next' Netflix Twitter account, it seems there might be a live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series on the horizon.

There's even a piece of concept art, created by artist John Staub.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is an American animated TV series which aired on Nickelodeon for three seasons.

The original episodes combined elements of anime with American cartoons and tell the story of 12-year-old Aang and his friends, who must bring peace and unity to the world by ending the Fire Lord's war with three nations - The Northern and Southern Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom and the Air Nomads.

Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished.

Aang was the Avatar of his era, he was the only person capable of using all four bending arts: airbending, waterbending, earthbending and firebending.

Got all that? Good.

The original series began in February 2005 and ran for just over three years until July 2008. It was created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.

And according to NXonNetflix, the pair will be back for the live action series.

It seems Nickelodeon are pretty happy about the entire thing:

Others were quick to pass on some advice and/or criticism.

One said: "It better be good, hope y'all learned from your mistakes."

Another added: "NO, Just pick up the rights and add on to the existing universe. Nothing live action you've made has turned out good. Remember Death Note? This'll be worse than the first try..."

And a third said: "I'd rather get new stories, animated or live-action. Not retread what we have all watched a dozen times."

Plenty of people were excited, however.

One said: "IS GOD REAL?? HAVE MY PRAYERS BEEN ANSWERED"

Someone in full agreement added: "PLEASE do it right. If its the exact same feel as the animated it will be perfect."

Finally another supporter commented: "Wow, its first ever live action interpretation. Good for them!! About time we got one with real people. The animated series had been over for such a long time."

Can't wait to see how this turns out.
