Some TV series just grab you by the throat, forcing you to binge-watch every episode until suddenly you realise you haven't washed or eaten for days. That's apparently what one show on Netflix is currently doing.

The show La casa de papel - translated into English as Money Heist - originally came out on Spanish TV channel Antena 3 last May, finally finishing its run in November.

The show premiered internationally in December after it was made available on Netflix on Christmas Day. Understandably, at that time most people were probably caught up with watching Home Alone - or, er, A Christmas Prince - on repeat instead.

Yet the show have made a big impression since - and given what it's about, there's no surprise why.

The series covers the plot of a mysterious man called El Profesor ('The Professor') who is planning the biggest heist ever known to man. However, to do it, he acquires the help of eight people who are damaged enough to be up for it.

The plan? To enter the Royal Mint of Spain and print 2.4 billion euros. To pull it off, they need to control the building for eleven days, during which time they need to handle the lives of sixty-seven hostages as well as the elite forces of the police. No big then.

Don't take our word for how good it is. Just look at what these people have been saying about it:

The show apparently has the perfect combination of being really addictive and very well written with excellent fleshed out characters - because of course people are going to have their reasons for going into a heist like that.

The show has a pretty decent English dub and Season 2 of the show has already been commissioned, so there's really no better time to go check it out.
