Netflix Is Confused About The People Watching This Christmas Film 18 Days In A Row

Netflix has been watching you, it seems, and that includes the 53 people who watched 'A Christmas Prince' every day for the past 18 days...

Netflix recently revealed some pretty interesting stats about its users' viewing habits in its 2017 Year in Review. Some have proven to be hilarious (whoever's watched Bee Movie 347 times in 2017), some unsurprising (we've collectively watched 140 million hours of Netflix a day this year), while others have just been downright baffling - like the fact that 53 people have watched A Christmas Prince every day for the past 18 days.

A Christmas Prince is a 2017 Christmas rom-com film - and probably one of the few Netflix Originals you've never heard of, unlike Narcos, Stranger Things, BoJack Horseman, Love, The Crown, House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Making a Murderer, Master of None and others.

Even Netflix is questioning why everyone's been watching it so much - and it's Netflix's own.

Starring Rose McIver (we dunno either) and Ben Lamb (yep, nor this one), the flick follows an aspiring journalist called Amber - who's obsessed with Christmas or something - who is sent to the foreign nation of Aldovia to cover a press conference about playboy Prince Richard. I think you can imagine what happens next, given that we've been handed that old girl-meets-prince-and-gets-swept-off-her-feet scenario.

Sure, it's absolute shite - but people like absolute shite, don't they? Especially at this time of year, when everyone dusts off their Love Actually DVD and ignores the fact that it's riddled with sentimental pap, vapid women and horny prime ministers, JUST because it has a bit of snow and a few Christmas tunes along the way.

However, in all its cliches and predictable plotlines, it seems 53 people have found it absolutely impossible to stop watching. So addictive, in fact, that they've watched it every day for the past 18 days.

That said, some people have been a bit creeped out by the new stats, which have revealed some very specific things about Netflix users, including information that most of us probably didn't think anyone cared about.

In its 2017 Year in Review, Netflix also revealed that one anonymous UK user had watched Bee Movie a grand total of 357 times this year. That is scarily close to once a day, or the equivalent of 23.5 days of non-stop streaming.

The review also revealed that subscribers around the world collectively viewed over 140 million hours of Netflix a day this year - which amounts to over a billion hours a week.

Basically, we're all a bunch of weirdos. BRB, just off to watch A Christmas Prince. And Bee Movie.
