Netflix has renewed hit food series Ugly Delicious for a second season - news that was revealed by the show's star, David Chang, who roped in his mother for an adorable Instagram video:

Sharing the clip to his fans, Chang wrote: "Happy Thanksgiving from the strongest person I know! @UglyDelicious is coming back for a second season. Only on #Netflix."

In the clip, his mum - who has had a 25-year 'off and on' battle with cancer - shares all the vital info (with a few prompts here and there) while rustling up a delicious Thanksgiving feast. What a hero.

While many Instagrammers were delighted to hear the news of Ugly Delicious' return, it seems Chang's mum stole the limelight a bit.

"I'm a big fan of mama Chang!!" one person wrote.

"She reminds me of my mom when I have speak in English and then she takes the next few minutes to curse me out in Korean," another commented, adding laughing emojis.

"This is wonderful, makes me miss my mom and watching her make TG dinner," someone else said.

Others even asked Chang to share the recipe of what she was cooking, as it looked delicious. I mean, a Mama Chang recipe book would fly off the shelves... just sayin'.

Speaking to Refinery29 when the first series hit Netflix, Chang explained that he wanted to use food as the vehicle to talk about culture 'because it's something that we can all relate to'.

"You can have many viewpoints and one can be just as valid as the other," he explained.

The first season of Ugly Delicious was an instant hit with Netflix viewers.

He also stressed that the show - which discusses everything from dumplings through to Domino's pizza - was all about exploring just about every corner of food culture.

"That was the first pizza I grew up eating," he said. "I remember being able to get Domino's delivered and to get that as a treat once a month or once every couple weeks - that was just the best. I grew up thinking Domino's was the best.

"But there's quite the contrast between the pizzas in Naples and Tokyo versus Domino's versus Lucali's pizza in Brooklyn.

"Again you'd think a lot of people would dislike Domino's, but numbers prove otherwise - I think many, many people around the world love Domino's. I think there is a time and place for it, at least for me."

No word yet on where Chang will be visiting or what he'll be eating for round two, but no doubt it's guaranteed to be delicious. Bring on the second helpings!
