When we found out Netflix was giving us a docuseries about our beloved four-legged friends - aptly titled Dogs - we were immediately sold. We didn't even need any more information to know it was going to be a good ride.

Turns out our assumptions were right, as the six-part series has proven a hit with viewers across the world.

But there's one episode in particular that everyone's talking about, and that's the one called 'Bravo, Zeus'.

In the episode (which is the second of the series) we meet a man called Ayham, a Syrian refugee who's managed to flee and settle in Germany. Only thing is, Ayham had to leave his dog, Zeus, behind, which is nothing short of ABSOLUTELY HEARTBREAKING.

Ayham's friends back home continue to look after Zeus for him as he looks into trying to get the pooch over to Germany - meaning it's their compelling story we also get to explore.

At one point, Ayham's friend Naji even says to him: "I want to be a dog and come to you. They will put me in a cage, and I'll come to you."

Eventually, we get the happy ending we all needed as Zeus and Ayham are finally reunited after years apart, with many fans taking to Twitter to gush about the tearjerker of an episode.

Ayham wanted to be reuinted with his dog, Zeus, after he fled Syria to Germany.

One wrote: "Just finished #Dogs episode2 ....Bravo, Zeus. Absolutely amazing. That one episode as a stand alone documentary would win award after award! #DogsOnNetflix."

Another said: "It is impossible to get through the 'Bravo, Zeus' episode of Netflix's Dogs without ending up a sobbing mess."

Someone else tweeted: "Currently watching #BravoZeus on #Netflix documentary series "Dogs" and I'm crying my eyes out, both for the people living in war-torned Syria and for Zeus because he is such a good boy who deserves to be reuinted with his owner again."

A fourth added: "If you don't ugly cry during the "Bravo, Zeus" episode of Netflix's DOGS, I'm pretty sure you have no soul. #DogsOnNetflix#BravoZeus."

Others said the episode worked as a beautiful 'symbol of hope', with others commending Ayham for overcoming such adversity - themes that Glen Zipper, one of the show's directors and developers, hoped to convey with the series.

He told Variety in an interview: "Dogs don't just make us feel loved, dogs make us feel safe. In the world we live in today, no matter how divided we are, we should take care to realise how much dogs mean to all of us, and how our bond with them can help bring us together."

Get watching... But definitely make sure you've got plenty of tissues nearby.
