A new Channel 4 show will see couples have sex - actually - on the telly, before discussing their experiences and getting a few pointers from a sex and relationship expert.

Yes, a few sets of intrepid couples will invite the cameras into their gaff to film and document their most intimate moments before they are picked apart by an expert, as well as a watching public.

It's basically Love Island, meets Big Brother, meets Embarrassing Bodies.

The new show is called Sex Tape, and - believe it or not - some of the folk who have been on it actually think that it has really helped them out.

Glasgow couple Brian Matthews and Victoria Obahor were afraid that their sex life had gone a bit stale after a three year on/off relationship.

If Brian and Victoria look familiar, that's because you maybe heard about the time that Brian - an avid Rangers fan - got a Celtic Football Club tattoo on his leg because Victoria made him.

Sure, it was a laugh, but it also was because Brian has admitted to cheating on her several times.

That said, both of them reckon that their appearance on this show has had a positive impact on their relationship in the long run.

Despite the fact that they described the sex they had in front of the cameras as the worst they've ever had, Victoria says the advice they got afterwards - in which sex and relationship expert Anjula Mutanda told them to be more experimental and reconnect - has had a lasting effect on them.

Victoria admitted to feeling like a 'bored housewife' before they went on the show, but afterwards told the Sun: "It has made me insatiable again! I have started to go back to the old ways in the bedroom. It has helped me.

"I am not a bored housewife anymore and the programme helped us find stuff out. I did want to stay with Brian and the counselling made a difference."

Brian explained: "I had been single most of my life and she became the first serious relationship.

"I didn't want that at first. I didn't want things to change, I still wanted to be Jack the lad. But it got boring. It got that married couple way - putting our pyjamas on, watching TV, going to bed. Victoria wasn't open to new things anymore."

He continued: "It has made our sex life better.Victoria took on board things I said and she dresses more sexily. Things have certainly improved and we do more dating together."

Sex Tapes will air on Channel 4 on Friday 26 April at 10pm.
