Netflix has just added a creepy new Indian horror series, and it's seriously creeping out viewers, so that's your weekend binge-watching sorted.

Typewriter is a tense five-part series from director Sujoy Ghosh and centres on three young pals who live in Goa, India. They embark on a mission to try and capture a ghost that lives in a haunted house in their neighbourhood.

But before they manage to get involved in a bit of ghost-busting, a new family move into the house. As any horror fan will expect, things do not go well for this family.

An official synopsis reads: "Three young friends in Goa plan to search an old villa for ghosts, but when a new family moves in, the home's buried past resurfaces in chilling ways."

The creepy series has left people pretty shaken up, with one viewer taking to Twitter to say: "Typewriter has been watched and it's definitely not for the faint-hearted! Couldn't see it without looking around to check if all OK in the house!"

While another said: "I'm feeling so helpless! I tried watching Typewriter in the daytime but could barely watch the first episode.

"Don't know how I will muster the courage to finish this til the end."

While a third said simply: "New show Typewriter is actually good. If you're a sucker for horror movies and shows that is."

One tired viewer commented to say their sleep was 'destroyed' after watching the atmospheric drama.

Piling on the praise, another compared it to Netflix's other child-led show Stranger Things.

They wrote: "Typewriter was so good that I binge-watched the entire series in one go. I can almost say it's a mini Indian version of Stranger Things, and I mean that as a compliment."

Others warned that although it features a young cast, it is most certainly not for little ones... unless you're trying to traumatise your kids, of course.

Typewriter is streaming now on Netflix.

The series has so impressed viewers there are already demands for a second season, just a week after the first one dropped.

It's getting love from critics too, with movie-buffs praising its nostalgic feel and 'foreboding mood'.

The first season of Typewriter is available to stream right now on Netflix.
