Wonderful news, everybody: Black Mirror season five has already begun filming. See, life isn't all bad, is it?

Charlie Brooker, the show's creator, confirmed the good news that the show will be making a welcome return to Netflix while on the red carpet at the Royal Television Society (RTS) awards.

When asked he revealed: "Season five, we are filming one [episode] at the moment.

"We are about to start filming another one imminently. I'm writing the next one and then it gets a bit more foggy."

Brooker's big reveal comes just weeks after the show was confirmed for a fifth season on the streaming giant.

See, this is how it's done, writers - none of that making fans wait bloody years between seasons.

Understandably, fans were very happy to hear the news:

Brooker and co-creator Annabel Jones took home the Judges Award for the Netflix series at the awards.

In his speech, Brooker said: "I have heard 2017 described as being trapped in one long unending Black Mirror episode. But I like to think if I had written it, it wouldn't be so on the nose with all the Nazis and hate."

When asked which of his episodes he'd least like to see coming true, Brooker told the Metro: "Probably Nosedive - which is the likeliest thing, it's coming true in China. It's one of the most plausible ones.

"There's an upside to some of them coming true, but with Metalhead there's no upside. Metalhead or Nosedive."

He went on to say: "People think we have predicted stuff; I find that unsettling. I hope that's not true, that is a horrible thing."

So far no details have been revealed about the upcoming episodes, but in the meantime you can watch the first four season on Netflix now. Go on.
