An official Peaky Blinders festival is coming to Birmingham next month. Exciting, eh?

The festival will feature music from Primal Scream, Slaves and Anna Calvi, there'll also be a Q&A with members of the cast, food, drink and 'immersive site-wide theatre'.

It's the first official Peaky Blinders festival, following a surge in unofficial ones popping up across the UK, and takes place on 14 and 15 September in Digbeth, Birmingham.

The festival will hit Birmingham next month.

The date of the festival is designed to coincide with the 100 anniversary of when the first ever episode was set - if you can cast your mind back, the episode one of season one opened with the caption: "September 1919."

Speaking to the NME, Peaky Blinders' creator Steven Knight, who also co-curated the festival, said: "The most important thing that I wanted to do with this official one was not only to make it the biggest and best, but also to bring it back to Digbeth in Birmingham.

"Those streets are the streets where the Peaky Blinders first walked and drank and swaggered. I'm really pleased that we're bringing this back to the roots of what the Peaky Blinders really are."

He went on to say all the musical acts taking part have been 'handpicked' by Knight and other festival organisers to ensure they 'fit' with the vibe.

And, if you want to know what else is going on over the weekend, Knight told the news outlet: "Ballet Rambert have created a Peaky Blinders ballet that will be performed on the streets and on the main stage.

"There's going to be immersive theatre, discussion groups on how the Peaky Blinders lived at the time in comparison to how things are now. There will be food, a barbershops, tattooists, plus David Beckham's Peaky Blinders clothing line with Kent & Curwen will have a presence there."

So there's a lot going on.

The festival is sure to be popular with fans, particularly as excitement grows for the upcoming fifth season.

A trailer dropped earlier this week with the BBC teasing: "Power comes at a price. Get ready for the new series of #PeakyBlinders, coming soon to @BBCOne and @BBCiPlayer."

Tickets to the catchy-titled The Legitimate Peaky Blinders Festival go on sale at 10am on 9 August, and you'll be able to get your hands on some here.
