Back in 2002, after 47 hours and 27 minutes of labour, Ross and Rachel had their first baby and Emma Geller-Green made her first appearance on Friends.

Although the world was forced to say goodbye to the American sitcom 14-years-ago, fans still love the show as much as they always have - and to some it came as a huge shock to realise that Emma, who was born almost two weeks late, isn't a little baby anymore.

In fact fans are pointing out the horrific thought that she would be turning 18 next year - cue the awkward moment in the show that Joey aimed his famous tagline, 'how you doin'?' at Emma, in a video which was meant to be shown on her 18th birthday party.

The realisation came from a 22-year-old blogger named Lucy.

She tweeted: "Ok so I was watching Friends last night and Ross was filming a tape for Emma's 18th birthday and Chandler says the line 'Hi Emma. It's 2020. Have you woken up from your nap yet?' And it's just dawned on me that 2020 is NEXT YEAR. Emma would be 18 NEXT YEAR."

One person commented: "Gonna go pick up my pension."

Another replied with: "That can't be right? How did that happen?!"

It did happen - do you feel old yet?

This also means that Cali and Noelle Sheldon - the actors who played Emma (babies are generally played by identical twins) - are turning 18 next year.

Although Friends may be finished the pair haven't left it behind, as Noelle posted an Instagram photo of the her and her sister on the FriendsFest set along with the caption: "The one where Emma got cloned."

Eighteen years on from making their first appearance on the screen, the pair are still acting, and are set to star in an upcoming psychological horror-thriller US - which is due to hit cinemas in March.

The film has a pretty eerie premise - it follows the story of husband and wife Gabe and Adelaide Wilson who take their children to their beach house, hoping to spend time with friends.

Their quiet and peaceful getaway soon makes a huge U-turn and turns into chaos when a group of strangers arrive.

In the film Cali and Noelle will be starring alongside the likes of Elizabeth Moss, Lupita Nyong'o, and Winston Duke.
