"I iced that guy"

For me, it's not really Christmas until you've seen Hans Gruber fall to his death from a rooftop in Die Hard - a spectacular movie bad guy death, I'm sure you'll agree.

But is it the best? Is it really the best bad guy death scene of all time? Well, no - not according to a Reddit thread which is currently going off. It suggests that the accolade actually belongs to The Last Action Hero, thanks to a scene involving an explosion in an ice cream van and an ice cream cone right into the skull. What a way to go.

If you've not seen the film, it tells the story of a youngster called Danny who accidentally finds himself sucked into the fictional world of his favourite action movie star Jack Slater (Arnold Schwarzenegger) via a magical cinema ticket. Yeah, the story-line is a bit far fetched, to be honest with you.

However, the shoot-out/ice cream truck death scene is bloody brilliant.

As our two main characters are chased by a gang of baddies, Jack begins a shoot-out, while Danny hides. Firing a perfect shot at one of the fellas, he flies from the car and crashes through the windscreen of a parked-up ice cream van - in true action movie style, the truck immediately bursts into flames, flinging debris all over the place.

Cut to the bad fellas still hanging out the top of the car, when one slumps forward, only to reveal a perfect ice cream cone embedded into his skull. A perfect movie death, made all the more perfect by Jack turning to Danny and saying: "I iced that guy."

Despite that the scene and its amazing one-liner, the film has a pretty piss-poor 36 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and 6.3 on IMDB, but don't let those scores put you off, it's definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it before. In fact, it's probably worth a re-watch if you have already seen it, actually.

Yes, it's very cheesy, but a good portion of the film is just Schwarzenegger ripping his own movies and the genre in general, not to mention The Best Bad Guy Death Scene Of All Time - what more can you ask for?
