Piers Morgan Goes In On 'Love Island' And Its Inhabitants

Piers Morgan Goes In On 'Love Island' And Its Inhabitants

'What is the matter with this country?'

In a shocking move, Piers Morgan has been ranting about something on live TV today. I know! I was shocked, too. It's not like him, is it, to scream his opinion at people while Susanna Reid sits there awkwardly? I hope he's OK. This is very out of character.

On Good Morning Britain earlier today, Piers let viewers know what he thought of the reality show Love Island and its contestants. Try and have a guess if he was a fan or not, go on.

Oh, he's not. Shocker.

Sharing his thoughts on the show, Piers called it 'tripe' and branded its contestants 'complete cretins'.

Susanna, who appears to be a fan, said the show was teaching her about relationships, but Piers wasn't having that, asking her: "What are you learning? They are such complete cretins.

"It's like a bunch of David Beckhams have been incarcerated with a bunch of the refuseniks from Celebrity Big Brother, the ones that never got into the actual show itself.

"They've all been put into this hellhole, which is basically designed to scramble my brain and turn me into a complete lump of molten porridge. I can't deal with it any longer.

"And millions of people are watching this tripe. What is the matter with this country?"

Used to his ranting, Susanna was undeterred, saying: "You're wrong. Two million people are right."

But of, course, Piers insisted: "I'm not wrong, I'm right."

And while Piers makes a very good point, so too does Susanna, because whether you think the contestants are 'complete cretins' or not (they are), the reality show is pulling in viewers.

Monday's episode attracted 2.4 million viewers, and I reckon Piers is one of them, on the sly. He's definitely that fella at work who pretends he's too clever and cool to watch it, but secretly can't get enough of Marcel and co. Just admit it, Piers, we're all friends here.
