Piers Morgan Mugs Himself Off In An Attempt To Humiliate 'Love Island' Contestants

We all know Piers Morgan's thoughts on 'Love Island', so imagine their delight when he 'mugged' himself off on live TV

Piers Morgan doesn't like Love Island. In fact, he reckons the show's contestants are 'the most stupid people in the world' - so imagine how delighted fans were when, in an attempt to humiliate them, he completely embarrassed himself.

Can we get 'Muggy Morgan' to catch on or what?

Love Island contestant, Hayley Hughes, was dumped over the weekend with her new 'partner' Charlie Frederick. You know Hayley, the one who thought Brexit was all about the trees.

As they usually do, the dumped contestants are currently doing the rounds with the media.

So it was only natural that they made an appearance on Good Morning Britain. Which they were probably pretty worried about, considering Piers Morgan's attitude towards the ITV show.

The presenter went in hard on Hayley during today's episode, asking her if she knew the Pythagorean theorem.

And in trying to show off his apparently superior intellect, he made a fool of himself to the amusement of co-presenter Susanna Reid.

He asked Hayley: "What would you say is your intellectual powerhouse?"

"Anything but geography and Brexit," she replied which was a good answer considering the fact that we already know she's not up to date with our impending withdrawal from the European Union.

Piers then asked: "Do you know Pythagoras' Theorem to the nearest five decimal places?"

Susanna then challenged Piers to explain Pythagoras' theorem - and that's where things took a turn for the worst.

He replied: "3.147 is certainly the first four digits..."

Oops, Piers got Pythagoras' theorem mixed up with pi. Awks.

"That's pi! That's pi!" he said, panicking and realising a little too late.

And here's his excuse...

A delighted Susanna remarked: "You just showed yourself up, Piers Morgan, on national television in an attempt to humiliate these people."

And Piers (looking slightly embarrassed) responded with a Love Island reference: "You know what's happened to me? I've been mugged off... I've been pied off! I've been pied off."

He needs to do a bit of good ol' revision next time he tries that one.
