Piers Morgan Says Kylie Jenner Made Her Money From Her Sister's Sex Tape

Piers Morgan Says Kylie Jenner Made Her Money From Her Sister's Sex Tape

Another spicy hot take from the Good Morning Britain' presenter.

After the news that Kylie Jenner has become the world's youngest ever 'self-made billionaire' at the age of just 21 years old, some people aren't happy about it.

That is to say - in case you hadn't already guessed - Piers Morgan isn't happy about it.

Regardless of what you think of Morgan, you can always rely on him for a controversial take on something. It's lucky that he gets paid for it, isn't it?

Funny that.

Morgan said: "It's not self-made, it's because her sister made a sex tape."

Righto, Piers. It's not like she has built a very successful cosmetics company or anything, is it?

Of course, you don't have to be a Kardashian fan to know about them. They're everywhere.

Sure, Kim Kardashian became famous for filming (and then selling) a sex tape with rapper Ray J that leaked in 2007, but the Kardashians were in the public consciousness before that (in the USA certainly) for Kim's father Robert's role in the OJ Simpson trial as the star's lawyer.

Either way, none of this is actually relevant to Forbes declaring Kylie Jenner as a self-made billionaire.

We are expected to swallow the fact that being from a rich family makes you more successful in every other facet of our lives, what is so difficult to accept about this, then?

In fairness to her, Jenner seemed quite humbled and taken aback by being recognised by the magazine. She told Forbes: "I didn't expect anything. I did not foresee the future,

"But [the recognition] feels really good. That's a nice pat on the back."

Jenner made her billions from Kylie Cosmetics, which she started in 2015 with a little help from her mother, Kris.

OK, not exactly self-made - we all need a little help along the way - but not exactly what Piers is alluding too, either. On top of that, she got the company off the floor using $250,000 that she had raised from her modelling and reality TV success.

The company has become a success, largely due to the popularity of her family, as well as her incessant plugging on Instagram.

It turned over £274m ($360m) last year. That appears to have tipped Jenner, who owns 100% of the business, into another echelon of wealth.

She continued: "Social media is an amazing platform. I have such easy access to my fans and my customers.

"Ever since I was probably 15 I've been obsessed with lipstick. I could never find a lip liner and a lipstick that were the perfect match. So that's where I thought of the idea that I wanted to create my own product,

"I kept calling my mom, saying: 'Mom, I'm so scared. Do you think it's going to sell?' Because I put all my money upfront. You know, it's all my money. I put everything into this."

Sure, she's not exactly the classic rags to riches story, but suggesting that she is only famous because of the sex tape of a woman who has nothing to do with her business and just happens to be her sister seems a little unfair.

What were we expecting?
