WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD (POSSIBLY)

With a month to go until the new season of Game of Thrones, it looks like one of the biggest spoilers may have already been revealed - Jon Snow's birth name.

A Reddit user claims that this picture is a leak from an upcoming issue of Empire magazine...

It reads: 'As we saw in the last episode of season 6, Bran's psychic time-traveling 'green sight' revealed the true nature of Jon's birth heritage and his real name: Jaehaerys Targaryen.

'"Bran's now in this precarious situation in which it's just him and Meera, and he has all of this information that could change the entire story," said [Bran actor] Isaac Hempstead Wright. And it's not just about Jon. "He knows all about the White Walkers too."'

Holy shitballs.

If this is real (and not some elaborate Photoshop) then it means that Jon could be Daenerys Targaryen's brother...

Plus it indicates that Ned Stark's sister Lyanna was not kidnapped by Rhaegar Targaryen - she actually eloped with him.

It also means that Jon would have more of a claim to the Iron Throne than previously thought.

One user wrote: "I don't even know what to think about this. On one hand it is strange to just drop a reveal in an article like it's nothing. On the other, if they were to be speculating wouldn't they at least mention it somehow. This is strange, probably meant to make us talk and speculate. I'm intrigued.

"Also, wasn't there a person that supposedly lip-read the scene between Lyanna and Ned? I recall that person saying that the name Jaehaerys was whispered... Hmm."

This last point is referring to the time when Lyanna Stark whispered (what's believed to be) Jon Snow's true name to Ned Stark on her deathbed.

Another added: "This is the first confirmation I've seen so it's probably the magazine guessing on the name. We won't know what it is for real until the show ends."
