Russell Crowe has a reputation for being a bit of a bad boy. You know, when he's not throwing phones at people, he's got that old-school charm and some genuinely good stories. It means he stands apart from the usual media-trained crowd.
And his naughty behaviour is pretty entertaining. I'd love to go on a night out with him.
I mean, Ricky Gervais had a pretty good time of it when he and Russell had a night on the booze, so much so he felt the need to tell the world and live tweeted his night out with the Gladiator star.

Is it just me, or do these two look like they could be brothers? I guess it's the similar haircut?
"Who am I getting drunk with at the moment?" Ricky asked. Russell immediately tweeted back: "Roger Moore?"
But then someone tweeted Ricky saying that Russell looked like his dad (!) Gervais is only three years older than him, too. So harsh.

Russell was not impressed and tweeted: "Oh f--k off, he is going to love you so much for that."
Ricky ended the drinking spree by saying: "I honestly haven't been this drunk for ages. @russellcrowe is a f--king terrible influence. Not just on me, but on the world."
Aw, BFFs. They then deleted all their tweets. C'mon, guys, I think you should do a celebrity drink session more often.
He's also pretty good friends with Ryan Gosling. When they first met, Russell had accidentally brought 12 women and his mother-in-law to dinner because they were so keen to meet The Notebook star but that didn't seem to scare Ryan off. They even went on to star in a film together, The Nice Guys.

This 'therapy session' between the two of them is hilarious.
Only a couple of days ago, Howard Stern, a US shock jock, made comments about Russell's weight and he shot back against the shaming. Russell said that he could bench press Howard.
Can we make this happen, please?

But the coolest story about Russell has to be the first time he met Henry Cavill.
Three months into the shoot of Man of Steel, Russell turned to Henry and said: "Do I know you from somewhere?"
It turned out that almost 15 years ago as a schoolboy, the Superman star had approached Russell on a shoot and asked him for some acting advice. And then all those years later, they're both working on a blockbuster film together, playing father and son.
Coincidence? I think not.

Happy Birthday, Russell! Please live tweet your night! Or, you know, invite me along.
