Rob Brydon Spotted Wearing Uncle Bryn's Famous T-Shirt On Gavin And Stacey Set

My niece went to Greece and all I got was this lousy t-shirt

Rob Brydon - that's Uncle Bryn to any Gavin and Stacey fans out there - has been spotted filming on the set of the one-off Christmas special wearing a particularly special piece of clothing.

He's wearing - you've guess it - the 'My niece went to Greece and all I got was this lousy t-shirt' t-shirt.

The famous garment originally appeared in the first episode of season two all the way back in 2008 when Gavin and Stacey (Matthew Horne and Joanna Page) returned from their honeymoon in Greece.

In that episode, Uncle Bryn proudly revealed that he'd had the shirt made up on the internet before their wedding had taken place.

Oh, Uncle Bryn.

Obviously, he thought it was hilarious, until Stacey's mum Gwen (Melanie Walters) pointed out that she hadn't actually brought it back for him, therefore it wasn't actually as brilliant as he thought.

Oh, and they'd actually bought him a bottle of wine, anyway. Double the inaccuracy.

If you've not seen the show, that is probably lost on you. However, ask yourself why you're reading an article about Gavin and Stacey if you've never seen it.

Anyway, one can only imagine what is going to be going on in this particular scene, given that the iconic t-shirt was paired with only a pair of tartan boxer shorts and a grey dressing gown.

We'll have to wait until Christmas to find out, I guess.

The gang's all here.

The one-off episode started filming yesterday in Barry, South Wales, and last graced our screens back in 2010.

It looks as if all the main characters are back, including James Corden as Smithy.

Corden won't just be acting, too. He made the big reveal back in May that the show was returning. He shared a photo of the script on Twitter to make the announcement.

Corden has co-written the aforementioned script alongside Ruth Jones - who also plays Nessa - and the pair expressed their excitement for the forthcoming special in a joint press release through the BBC that read: "Over the last ten years we've talked a lot about Gavin and Stacey - where they might be today and what their lives might look like."

Even James 'Big Time' Corden tipped out.

"And so in secret we took the plunge and wrote this one-hour special. We've loved revisiting Barry and Essex again and bringing the characters back together has been a joy.

"We're so excited to get the chance to work with our fabulous cast and crew once more and to give fans of the show a festive treat this Christmas. Thank you BBC for helping to make this happen."
