Ross Kemp. Is he the coolest ex-Eastenders cast member ever? Surely he must be. While Barbara Windsor is touting online gambling sites, he's out in Libya being held captive by a heavily armed gang.
While filming the new series of Ross Kemp: Extreme World in the desert city of Sabha, Libya, Kemp was investigating smuggling, human trafficking networks and violent extremism, reports the Mirror.
At one point, a heavily armed gang (who intended to kidnap him) surrounded the building he was in, which resulted in a 12-hour standoff.

He explained: "At one point we were asked to leave the south.
"We had a number of people outside the building we were in with weapons. And the tribe that we were with had to defend us because this other clan wanted to take us.
"There was a stand-off for about 12 hours.
"We nearly had to be lifted out."

He added: "This was far more dangerous than being somewhere like Iraq. At least there, we were embedded with the Kurds. We knew the barriers of where we were safe at any one time. But in Libya you are not safe at all.
"It's a country where there are three guns to every one person."
Describing the conditions that some migrants faced in illegal detention camps, he said: "In the camps people are getting three pieces of cheese a day, one piece of bread and half a litre of dirty water. They are dying.
"We met a woman who had given birth three days before we arrived. Her baby had died six hours after she had gone into labour in the toilet. She was still bleeding and dying but no one was doing anything about it.

"There are three governments out there who say they are in control. But no one is in control in the country. It is on the verge of becoming a non-state."
He was also asked if he feared death, to which he replied: "You wouldn't know it from our expressions but it certainly goes through your mind when you've got a family with guns right next to you and another with guns facing you."
It's not the first time Kemp's proved himself to be absolutely fearless. Remember that time when he was ambushed by three men with guns in Papua New Guinea and he just casually pushed the gun out of the way and shouted: "Are you gonna kill me? No one's gonna fucking kill me, alright?" And they shit themselves and let him go.
Here's the video for your enjoyment...

Or how about when he just walked straight up to a suicide bomber in Gaza like it was the ice-cream man. The 24-year-old was armed to the teeth but Ross didn't let that get in the way of a good interview opportunity.
