We're just over seven months away from the release of the fourth Avengers film - following on from Avengers: Infinity War - and yet no one has any clue as to what the title might be... Until now.

Directors Anthony and Joe Russo shared a rather cryptic black and white photo along with the caption 'look hard...' and it has sent fans into overdrive trying to figure out what the clues add up to and whether they hint at the upcoming film's title.

Some spotted an A and an E, which could suggest the fourth instalment will be called Avengers Eternity.

Others reckon the A and E means Avengers Endgame. In fact, some are downright sure of it:

The real eagle-eyed conspiracy theorists out there spotted an object in the picture that has a connection to the first film, Avengers Assemble:

Some people spotted four A's, speculating whether the film's gonna be called Avengers 4 and Marvel and Co. is just having a big old laugh at our expense.

And finally, as the online debate rages on, some fans saw the funny side of it all:

Well done, internet - you can take off those foil hats now. Let it be known that the picture could very well have nothing to do with the film at all and the Russo Brothers might just be working on a new project.

Especially since they followed up the tweet with a post about their new restaurant Simone, which opens in Los Angeles today.

On the other side of the coin, the sibling directors know full well that the fandom is thirsty for updates on the upcoming Avengers flick and anything with even a hint of mystery surrounding it is going to get speculated the shit out of.

So it could well be that this is their pre-announcement game before the big reveal. Either way, we know that the fourth instalment in the series will see the Avengers assembling once more on the big screen on 26 April, 2019.

No doubt it's only a matter of time before we find out who was right in the title race - until then hold tight, true believers.
