Samuel L. Jackson claims he'd be well up for appearing in hit UK dramas Peaky Blinders and Luther - after telling LADbible he's a big fan of both shows.

Jackson was in the UK to promote upcoming M.Night Shyamalan film Glass - the final part of a trilogy that stretches back to 2000's Unbreakable.

But Jackson is also a big fan of BBC hits Peaky Blinders - which stars Cillian Murphy - and Idris Elba's Luther.

"Do I watch UK shows? Like Peaky Blinders and Luther?" he said. "Yes I do. I love those shows."

Asked if he'd take parts in either - or both - if he was approached, he said: "I would. Of course! I like those shows a lot."

As well as Glass, which reunites Jackson's psychopathic Elijah Price with Bruce Willis' hero David Dunn, the actor will also star in two huge films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) early this year.

Jackson will reprise his role as Nick Fury in Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame. These will be the final two films in Jackson's nine-movie deal with the studio, although he didn't rule out a return to the character.

The recent Disney Fox merger opens up a whole new range of comic book characters to the MCU machine. That includes the popular X-Men franchise, along with hundreds of popular heroes yet to make it to the big screen.

"I'm a gunslinger, I'll go where the movies are," said Jackson.

"When I first signed with Marvel, it was for nine movies. I just didn't think those nine movies would get made so fast.

"A lot of the characters I play have their outcomes left fairly open. Like Mace Windu in Star Wars (Jackson first played that role in 1999), is he alive, is he dead? Nobody really knows. It leaves the door open."

The BBC is currently filming the next series of Peaky Blinders - which will see the Shelby's add political power to their slightly more industrial ways of dealing with problems.

Joining the team this time around is Sam Claflin, who has previously been in The Hunger Games, Pirates of the Caribbean and Me Before You. The 32-year-old is reported to be playing the role of far right politician Oswald Mosley for the upcoming season.

Luther recently wrapped up the fifth season - with Idris Elba and writer Neil Cross keen to make a move version, possibly released this year.

Speaking to LADbible, Elba said: "I've always said there should be a movie. I really want to do that and we're very close to doing that next year, hopefully, so let's see.

"For me it would be nice to take Luther up a scale. Make the storyline bigger, make it slightly more international."

When asked about how the show would handle telling a story in a 90-minute block rather than over several hour-long episodes, Elba said: "We've made varied seasons, one season was six episode, one was four - Luther's adaptable."
