The official, full-length trailer for the new live-action remake of The Lion King has finally dropped, and the animation is next level - but not everyone is happy.

As humans, we don't like change, do we? Especially when said change involves one of the staples of your childhood.

For Disney's remake, they've changed it up a bit, and people are not happy. At all.

The particular talking point about the trailer is Simba's villainous uncle, Scar.

From his original slick, pompous and quite frankly terrifying image, he's now what one guy referred to as a 'ratty looking lion'.

People are so pissed off about his image change, that - obviously - they've taken to Twitter to let off a bit of steam.

After watching the trailer, one person said: "Nooooooo. It's the same FUCKING STORY. NOBODY asked for this. This ain't even live action, it's fucking CGI. Scar doesn't even sound evil enough...UGHHH."

Another did some angry shouty typing, writing: "WTF DISNEY? 2nd Trailer for the S**TY! And UNNECESSARY! Lion King Remake RUINS SCAR! His design looks HORRID!"

A third guy was very definitely unhappy with the whole thing, rather sarcastically posting: "What if this gorgeously animated classic was drained of all style and color and rendered like a nature documentary for some reason."

To be fair, the difference is pretty drastic. Have a look for yourself:

The preview comes 100 days before the film is released, and it has some pretty impressive names involved - with Beyoncé as Nala, John Oliver as Zazu, Donald Glover as Simba, John Khani as Rafiki and Alfre Woodward as Sarabi.

All the characters make an appearance in the new preview, which you can watch above.

And if you need a refresher on the story, the new synopsis reads: "Director Jon Favreau's all-new The Lion King journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub's arrival.

"Scar, Mufasa's brother-and former heir to the throne-has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba's exile.

"With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his."

The Lion King hits UK cinemas on 19 July 2019.
