School Of Rock Was Released 15 Years Ago Today And It's Still A Classic

God almighty. Has it been that long?

It's hard to believe it's been 15 years since Jack Black pulled on his school shorts and rounded up a class of prep school kids to form The School of Rock.

Unfortunately, it has been that long. Not only are all of the kids from the school grown up, Mr Schneebly is now probably approaching retirement age.

We've wasted our lives, folks.

The classic film follows struggling musician Dewey Finn who takes over his roommate's job as an elementary school substitute teacher and turns his class into a rock band.

The movie opened in theatres on October 3, 2003, and went on to take in $131 million at the worldwide box office. But where are the cast of the beloved school music comedy now?

Miranda Cosgrove - Summer Hathaway (Band Manager)

Probably the most successful actress out of the film's cast and suitably so as she acted as the band's manager. After School of Rock Miranda Cosgrove got a starring role in series Drake & Josh , then her own series iCarly for Nickelodeon. Her biggest film role has been lending her voice to the Despicable Me films.

Jack Black - Dewey Finn (Lead Vocals)

Jack Black's career pretty much took off after School of Rock. It was the break he had spent years looking for. A song on his band Tenacious D's last album called 'The Ballad of Hollywood Jack' pretty much tells the tale of the success he found in the years following the movie. He's since had a cameo in Anchorman, plus starring roles in King Kong, Nacho Libre, Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny, Tropic Thunder, Kung Fu Panda and Bernie to name a few.

Joey Gaydos Jr. - Zack Mooneyham (Lead Guitar)

Once the quiet and timid kid who had to be convinced by Black to rock out, Joey is still ripping up chords as a guitarist for Stereo Jane, a rock band fronted by twin sisters.

Paramount

Kevin Clark - Freddy Jones (Drums)

It seems no one really knows what Freddy is up to nowadays. Unlike the rest of the cast, he's pretty silent on social media. From what we can gather, he still makes music though, so that's nice.

Paramount

Rebecca Brown - Katie (Bass)

Rebecca Brown is now part of a musical comedy troupe and also performs comedy with The Second City.

She hasn't stopped performing music, though. Bizarrely, she's also been in an advert for McDonald's.

Paramount

Robert Tsai - Lawrence (Keyboard)

Robert Tsai used to run a blog called 'making sure my pen works' but that has now disappeared from the Internet. He's continued to play piano in concert and is a graduate of Dartmouth university.

He'll always be known for the insult: "You're a fat loser and you have body odour."

Paramount

Maryam Hassan - Tomika (Lead Choir)

Another band mate that has stayed relatively quiet, apart from her appearance at the cast reunion.

Paramount

Caitlin Hale - Marta (Choir)

Caitlin's is still auditioning and acting for roles.

Paramount

Brian Falduto - Billy/Fancy Pants (Band Stylist)

Brian describes himself as a Promotions/Events Coordinator & Head of the Street Team at Cumulus Media Inc. Although his Twitter bio also still lists himself as a singer/songwriter and actor.

Paramount

Zachary Infante - Gordon (Lights)

Zachary has recently made an appearance at the New York Musical Theatre Festival, as well as TV shows Gotham and Alpha House.

Paramount

Jordan-Claire Green - Michelle (Groupie)

According to her Instagram, she solemnly swears that she's up to no good.

Paramount

Veronica Afflerbach - Eleni (Groupie)

Veronica has managed to maintain a rock and roll lifestyle by being possibly the most tattooed School of Rock alum. So much so that at the reunion, Jack Black was seen admiring her ink, which apparently includes roses, a skull, a key and a raven.

So, now you know. Hasn't that brightened your day?

No? Yeah, I just feel old too now.
