These days it seems as if it is completely normal to have an obsession with serial killers. Shows like Making A Murderer, and Mindhunter, as well as podcasts like Serial have made it all too easy for us to catch a deep insight into the minds of monsters.

So, with that in mind, we can now start to believe that we will see the return to our screens of Mindhunter before too long. After the huge success of the first series, it is expected that filming on the second instalment will take place in 2018.

It is thought that it will be on Netflix by 2019.

Yes, the FBI Behavioural Science team, led by the enigmatic Holden Ford, will return to the screen and tackle one of the most famous, and - of course - evil, serial killers ever. This time, they're going to be looking at Charles Manson.

Charlie Manson was a pretty vicious murderer as well as a charismatic cult leader. His 'Manson Family' committed atrocities that shocked the whole of America and beyond.

Manson started up a commune in California back in the 1960s and he and his followers were responsible for the deaths of nine people.

He was eventually caught and convicted of first degree murder, as well as conspiracy to commit murder. He died at the age of 83 in prison back in 2017.

On top of Charles Manson, the report on The Hashtag Show seems to suggest that a whole host of other famous bad guys will be featured in the next Mindhunter series.

Tex Watson - one of the Manson family - and The Son of Sam, David Berkowitz, are thought to be appearing too. Berkowitz gained his notoriety by murdering 8 people in New York in 1976.

As well as those guys, a guy who is called The Stocking Strangler (no prizes for guessing why) is thought to be down to feature, as well as other notable bad eggs Elmer Wayne Henley, William Pierce Junior, Paul Bateson, and Dennis Rader.

Wall to wall evil blokes. I can't wait.

As for the main plot, its going to focus heavily on the murder of 28 children in Atlanta, Georgia. The Atlanta Child Murders took place in 1979 - 1981. David Fincher will return to direct a few of the episodes, with other episodes being shot by Andrew Dominik and Carl Franklin. Exciting stuff.

It has been reported before now that David Fincher, who directed films like Se7en, Fight Club, and Zodiac wants to do at least five seasons of the show.

There's certainly enough material out there for him, unfortunately.
