There was a time when cookery shows just involved chefs standing in 'their kitchens', conning audiences into thinking they were just normal people.

But the format has moved on since then and people want more bang for their buck, which has led to shows like Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip being commissioned.

And the guess what, the cheeky trio look to be coming back for a second series to serve up their mix of delicious food and risque sausage innuendos.

Speaking to Chris Evans on Virgin Breakfast, Fred Sirieix, 47, said: "We're looking at dates at the moment so if we can get it to happen we will."

Looking back at having to live with foul-mouthed co-star Gordon Ramsey, he added: "It was three weeks of mayhem, complete mayhem. Sleeping with (Gordon and Gino D'Acampo) in a camper van."

Then things got a little steamy - and creepy - as talk turned to who would Fred rather shag or marry out of Gino and Gordon. A truly haunting proposition.

"What a question, I'm not sure I would marry any of them! This is a tough question," Fred laughed.

"Maybe I marry Gordon for the money and Gino for the fun. Gino is very funny, he wants to do what he wants to do.

"It was quite extraordinary, to be three weeks on the road with them, it was exhausting, when we finished I went back to work to rest."

Despite being a fan favourite, the charismatic Frenchman admitted that he still finds TV work difficult.

Speaking about the show, he said: "I don't think I'm very natural (on TV) I have to work very hard to perform and deliver.

Fred says they are in talks for a second series of the hit cookery show.

"But what I like is working with great people and the experience and learning."

However, he says he is very proud of his other show, My Million Pound Menu.

Fred added: "The process that takes place is something that happens in every restaurant when people have an idea and they want to pitch to investors."

But things could have been very different if Fred had followed his childhood ambition.

The First Dates maitre d' added: "I think I wanted to be a doctor when I was a small boy, my parents were in the french NHS, I was always visiting them in the local.

"I did not like school too much, I wanted to do what I wanted to do and have a life that was different to everyone else."
