If you're sick to death of hearing about Marvel, its superheroes, its universe, its films, basically anything to with it well then this really isn't for you.

Every day there is another story about some character making a return or some trailer dropping and today is no different.

That's because the next series of Marvel's The Punisher is coming to Netflix next month. Yay, I hear you scream.

An actual date for the release hasn't been set yet but it will be at some point in January, which, considering you will be well into the post-Christmas slump and back to work, will give you something to look forward to.

The Punisher stars Jon Bernthal, and follows the story of the former Marine out to punish the criminals responsible for his family's murder.

News of the second series was announced when Netflix revealed their list of January releases, earlier today.

However, if reports are to be believed then it might not all be good news for fans of the brutal action series, with rumours the second season could be the final one before it is cancelled by the streaming service.

But why? Well last month it was revealed that another Marvel series, Daredevil was cancelled by Netflix and people think this could be a sign of things to come.

A spokesperson for Netflix said: "Marvel's Daredevil will not return for a fourth season on Netflix. We are tremendously proud of the show's last and final season and although it's painful for the fans, we feel it best to close this chapter on a high note.

"We're thankful to showrunner Erik Oleson, the show's writers, stellar crew and incredible cast including Charlie Cox as Daredevil himself, and we're grateful to the fans who have supported the show over the years.

"While the series on Netflix has ended, the three existing seasons will remain on the service for years to come, while the Daredevil character will live on in future projects for Marvel."

Until recently, Netflix had five Marvel shows - Iron Fist, Punisher, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Daredevil - but there are now only two left - Punisher and Jessica Jones.

They give with one hand and take away with the other, don't they?

Enjoy it while it lasts.
