Teenage Busker Is Flown To US To Perform In Front Of Millions On The Ellen Show

Amazing.

There are times when the Internet is a pretty horrible thing - when you see trolls kicking off on someone they've never met on Twitter or when Tesco's online ordering system thinks it's OK to replace your order for bread with a whole octopus.

Other times it's a wonderful thing: when you can order from Domino's without having to speak to anyone or when a video of a talented teenager goes viral and he ends up being flown half way across the world to appear on TV.

15-year-old Alfie Sheard was filmed busking on the streets of Doncaster, earning some pocket money. After being uploaded to social media, the video quickly went viral and talented Alfie has racked up three million views.

Somehow the video ended up being watched by American comedian and chat show host Ellen DeGeneres. She was so impressed that she invited the teen to appear on her show, which is filmed in California, where he got a signed guitar from former-busker Ed Sheeran.

Ellen told her audience, and the four million people watching at home, that after seeing the video she had been keen to meet Alfie, before adding: "Wait 'til you hear him sing - this guy is amazing."

Ed recorded a message for him, saying: "Hey Alfie! Well done for just being amazing and playing all the time. I have heard your stuff and everyone has been very, very complimentary about it as well.

"And I wanted to take this opportunity to give you one of my guitars. The only way that I'm giving you this guitar is if you play it every day."

Alfie then used the guitar to perform Eric Clapton's 'Wonderful Tonight'.

Now back home, Alfie said: "I couldn't believe it when they said they wanted to fly me over. I was excited but I was nervous about the show.

"I now have Ed Sheeran's guitar. I can't believe it - I am such a big fan of his. The fact that he has even noticed me is overwhelming. It means so much to me. It's not locked away. I play it every day."

This isn't the first time Ed has made dreams come true on The Ellen Show. Last month he met seven-year-old super-fan Kai, who was on the show performing his own version of 'Thinking Out Loud'.

Little Kai was so engrossed in his performance - look at his arm movements - he failed to realise that the superstar was behind him.

When he finally comes face-to-face with Ed he is cool as fuck. Like he meets his idols every day.
