It's horrible out there. Don't even bother moving from your couch, just get stuck into some serious (or not so serious) Netflix movies.

As I'm sure you have noticed, it's pretty grim out there just now in the UK. If you've not got snow, you've got hail or rain and high winds.

Storm Ffion has been roaming far and wide across the UK and basically wrecking the gaff behind her.

Well, there are ways you can escape it all. One solution is to move to another country. A tad expensive, true, but the only fool-proof way to get away from those cold winter blues.

Oh wait! It's even been snowing in the Sahara desert. That's right, one of the hottest places on Earth has had snow for only the third time in about four decades. Fifteen inches of the stuff, too, in some places.

So the winter escape isn't on the cards, which leaves you limited options of what to do during the year's darkest month.

Another solution is to simply hibernate. Get into your PJs, get under that duvet, get some films on and wait this whole thing out.

Luckily the good folks at Netflix have you covered.

This month they've added a load of films to the service that could help pass the time until the sun re-emerges.

We've told you already about The Godfather trilogy which could eat up at least one waking day of time, but here are some others you might not have spotted.

Why Not Watch The Godfather.

If you like a good scare there is now the opportunity to watch Hostel: II should you so desire.

There are also a load of other options to creep you out; from You're Next to the critically acclaimed Green Room (punk band fights off neo-Nazis - what's not to love?).

Ok, so maybe horror is not your thing. There are plenty of other options.

There's the big budget Bridge of Spies to get stuck into, or the excellent In Bruges if you like your thrillers with a bit of dark comedy in them.

Speaking of comedy, there's also a wide choice of comedy films that are, well, a bit funnier (by which I mean, less death) such as Bridesmaids, The Full Monty and Hot Fuzz.

Hot Fuzz is Available on Netflix.

Animation wise, also available are classics such as Chicken Run, and Shrek, as well as Wes Anderson's The Fantastic Mr Fox.

Basically, whatever you want Netflix has got it for you. So stick on the kettle (it's Dry January after all) pop open a bag of crisps, and wait a while - until about April should do it.

The gym will still be there when it's safe to go outside. In fact, it'll be way less crowded.

Well done, you.
