Netflix is fantastic, right? Despite the fact that they're planning to introduce adverts into the middle of your binge-watching marathons, it turns out that some of the adverts might be for stuff that we'd actually watch.

For example, The End of the Fucking World is coming back for a second season. Yes, it has been officially confirmed that the show that some said shouldn't return, and others said would never return, is to come back.

They are keeping much of the original team together for their second stint. Creator Charlie Covell is returning to write season two, and it will continue to follow the story from the original comic series by Charles Forsman.

Whilst we're not sure who amongst the cast will be back, we can surmise that James, played by Alex Lawther, and Alyssa, who was played by Jessica Barden, will be back. Outside of that, we're in the dark.

The series will be broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK, whereas worldwide it will premiere on Netflix.

A synopsis released for the first series read: "Based on the award-winning graphic novel, adapted by acclaimed newcomer Charlie Covell, the eight episode first season follows James (Alex Lawther, "Black Mirror") and Alyssa (Jessica Barden, "Penny Dreadful") - a self-proclaimed psychopath and a foul-mouthed rebel fed-up with her boring life.

"The two embark on a roadtrip to find a better life, and escape the impending doom of adulthood. As their chaotic journey unfolds, it becomes apparent that James and Alyssa have crossed a line and have no choice but to take it as far as they can..."

Strangely enough, despite being wildly successful and - obviously - renewed for a second season, it almost didn't make the cut whatsoever.

Even the people who put it out for Netflix were surprised that it was such a success.

Netflix's chief content officer, Ted Sarandos, said: "It was astounding how popular it was for us,

"It didn't do great on linear TV in the UK, and we premiered it everywhere and it was hugely popular in every country."

On top of the familiar faces, season two will see Murray Ferguson, Ed McDonald, Andy Baker, Dominic Buchanan, and Jonathan Entwistle, return as Executive Producers, so they're keeping the old team together, at least.

The announcement was made on Twitter, where The End of the Fucking World Twitter account posted a video, alongside a caption of: "we'll be f***ing back."

Well, we can't f***ng wait.
