The First Full Trailer For 'Incredibles 2' Is Out

It's back! The first full trailer for Incredibles 2, the long-awaited sequel to Disney's 2004 smash hit animated film The Incredibles, is finally out and it doesn't disappoint.

Back last November we were treated with the first teaser trailer of the new film and now studio execs have pushed out our first proper look at what the sequel to the Oscar-winning movie will be like.

Bob Parr/Mr Incredible, his wife Helen/Elastigirl, and their three superhuman kids are all back in the sequel, but it looks like this one will be very different to the original.

All signs pointed us towards thinking we'd see the Parr family taking on the Underminer, the mole-man villain who appeared right at the end of the first Incredibles movie, yet in this trailer he is mysteriously nowhere to be seen.

Instead it looks like Incredibles 2 will see Bob taking on parenting duty after meeting some tycoon who 'wants to bring superheroes back into the sunlight'. For that, they want Bob's wife Helen - or Elastigirl - to take the limelight instead.

The trailer shows Bob helping Dash with his math homework and taking care of their infant son Jack-Jack while Elastigirl is out fighting crime. And it looks like, for Bob, being a full-time dad is harder than his old desk job.

"I've got to succeed so she can succeed!" Bob is seen saying. "So we can succeed!"

The trailer follows what we'd been told by Incredibles writer Brad Bird last year when he said Incredibles 2 would indeed focus on Elastigirl.

Bird told the Disney Animation Presentation at D23: "It's so great to be here to tell you about the film. It's fundamentally a story about family...with this new film, we're excited to jump back into that world. We have controls able to do so much more than before.

"The whole world of Incredibles 2 is gonna be greatly expanded upon. We'll be seeing a lot more of Elastagirl."

Thankfully, some of the best characters from the first film are also back to appear alongside the Parr family, including Samuel L. Jackson's Lucius Best/Frozone and the Parrs' fashion designer Edna Mode, played by Bird himself.

The long-awaited sequel is set to finally come out on July 13, 2018. We can't wait to see more about what Incredibles 2 will be like as the release date gets closer.
