The Mountain From Game Of Thrones Looks Ridiculous Holding Mug

The Mountain From Game Of Thrones Looks Ridiculous Holding Mug

Turns out normal-sized mug does looks very silly in the hands of a man mountain

If you watch Game of Thrones, then you'll know The Mountain is huge... though to be fair, even if you haven't watched it, you could probably guess.

The actor who plays The Mountain is also huge. Again, this might sound obvious, but the actors who play the hobbits in Lord of the Rings aren't actually 3ft tall, you know.

Hafþór 'Thor' Björnsson is 6ft 9in and weighs around 400 pound, so yeah, he's massive. And it looks bloody ridiculous when he holds a normal-sized mug, it turns out.

The 30-year-old Icelandic actor shared a photo on Instagram of him enjoying some kind of cuppa topped with cream, and you could be forgiven for thinking it's some kind of optical illusion. The mug itself is about half the size of his fist, so you'd have to assume he only got a couple of mouthfuls out of it.

He shared the photo with the caption 'who's jealous?' - though it's unclear whether he was asking if people were jealous of his wife or his creamy beverage.

Here's hoping next time he uploads a video of himself taking a sip, with little pinky full extended, of course.

It says a lot about a man though when a sword appears to fit their hand more naturally than a mug, but they don't call him The Mountain for no reason.

So how did the beast get so massive? Well, no doubt genetics played a big part, but he also takes a hell of a lot of fuel on board.

During an interview with BroBible, he was killing two birds by simultaneously 'chowing down on a bowl that appeared to contain a week's worth of meal prep'.

The reporter subsequently asked him to explain what he was eating.

"Rice, steak - this was rib-eye I minced down - peppers, carrots, and there are supplements in here as well," Björnsson explained.

"The liquid is chicken stock. It is the best meal for growth and strength. I'll eat this five times a day."

Hey, if The Mountain says it's the best meal for growth, then it's the best meal for growth.

Björnsson went on to add that he was proud to be tall, even if it is a pain in the arse sometimes.

He said: "I like being tall. The only thing that has annoyed me being this tall and heavy is that you can't really fit anywhere. You have to custom-make the bed [and] you can't travel with your bed. It's very annoying.

"Trying to fit into a cab or Uber is challenging as well. I have to fly business class because I just don't fit into economy. Otherwise, I'm proud to be tall."

Having to fly business class, eh? What a bummer.
