The Rock Rates ‘IT’ In His Top Ten And That’s Good Enough For Us

The Hollywood star watched the film recently and he was seriously impressed

Newsflash: The Rock likes IT. No, I'm not talking about nooky, although he almost certainly likes that, too). I'm not even talking about I.T. as in computers, although I imagine he has at least a passing interest. He certainly knows how to use a keyboard, as his recent Instagram post proves.

In this case, though, I'm talking about IT, the film about a scary clown who wreaks havoc on an unsuspecting, clown-averse town in Ameri-cay called Derry, which is also a city in Ireland.

For those who've not been to the cinema recently or seen the side of a bus, a remake of IT (originally based on Stephen King's 22nd novel and made into a successful 1990 miniseries of the same the name) is about to hit the silver screen and scare the shit out of everyone within a three-mile radius.

Until recently, The Rock had never seen It. He now has and he could undoubtedly lay the smackdown on Pennywise, or any other clown for that matter, including my uncle Geoff, who doubles up as a bare-knuckle boxer in his free time.

And The Rock, a man with a net worth of $190 million (£145m), a man who has beaten some of the most badass wrestlers ever to have graced the WWF and WWE canvasses, and a man who worked with the likes of Hollywood stars Samuel L. Jackson and, to a much, much lesser extent, Kelly Hu, is mightily impressed.

Posting to his Instagram following of 93.3m, The Rock had this to say:

93.3 million followers? That's more than the populations of the UK and the Netherlands combined. Fuck me, that man draws in a crowd.

With critics heaping praise on the adaptation, The Rock isn't alone in being impressed by the slick update of IT, although not many have put it into their Top Ten films of all time.

But as you can see, our main man, Dwayne, is impressed by the adaptation of the original series with Tim Curry, which features the likes of Bill Skarsgård as evil clown Pennywise and Jaeden Lieberher as leader of the young Loser's Club. As an actor who's done his fair share of scary films (The Mummy scared the hell out of me, but I was 12 at the time), The Rock knows what he's talking about.

And you know who's not a loser like the LADs in the Loser's Club? The Rock, that's who. Nope, the eight-time WWF/WWE Championship is all winner, and a Hollywood actor, too, so he knows his films. As long as you forget The Mummy Returns. That was shite.
