As Halloween edges ever closer, the world has been getting in the spirit of things by watching Netflix's latest horror show, The Haunting of Hill House. While the show's proven to be a triumph, viewers were so distracted by the hidden ghosts peppered about the place and the fact that they were crapping themselves with fear, many didn't notice a major detail - it stars the actor who played little Elliott in E.T.
'Member him? Yeah, well, he was played by a dude named Henry Thomas, who took the place of the young dad in the Netflix series.

Apparently Thomas has been acting since he was just eight years old, having made his big break as the MVP of Steven Spielberg's epic.
It's not like his career dwindled either, as Henry went on to feature alongside Brad Pitt in Legends of the Fall, as well as enjoying a number of roles in hit movies such as Gangs of New York, Suicide Kings, and Ouija: Origin Of Evil.

Not bad at all, although none have quite matched the popularity of the 80s classic. Which is why audiences across the Twittersphere are having a near meltdown at the realisation that he's back with a vengeance in the wildly popular new horror show.
One Twitter user wrote, "Finding out that the younger Dad from Haunting of Hill House is Elliot from E.T. has shaken me to my core," while another said, "still absolutely SHOOK that the young version of the dad in Haunting of Hill House is Elliott from E.T. & i didn't realise the entire way through. what a revelation."
Another simply put: "Holy shit balls the dad out of The Haunting of Hill House is Elliot from E.T." Beautifully said.

Well, there you have it. Not only is it a revelation that Elliott's now an adult, but it's also a rarity to see a child actor from the 80s grow up and still enjoy a steady career. So congrats Henry Thomas - a star from the very beginning.
