There are just seven days to go until Marvel blockbuster Avengers: Endgame finally hits cinema screens.

The long-awaited movie will draw the curtain down on this chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which has spanned more than a decade.

And according to industry experts, it already looks set to shatter all box office records, selling five times more tickets than its predecessor, Infinity War.

One fan was so desperate to get their hands on a ticket, they forked out $15,000 to be among the first to see the film.

A new clip also surfaced last night to turn the tension up even more - where we see the Avengers preparing to do battle in their smart new white suits, War Machine dropping in (literally) on Ant Man and Captain marvel flying through space to, presumably, tear Thanos a new one.

In short, people are really pumped to see whether Earth's mightiest heroes manage to defeat the mad titan and just how they bring Spider-Man - and maybe everyone else dusted in The Snap - back from wherever they disappeared to.

Taking to Twitter, one Marvel nut wrote: "26 April we've been waiting for... Whatever it takes #AvengersEndgame."

Another tense fan said: "Got me and the fam tickets for Endgame next Thursday...sitting on the second to front row cause there was no other space but oh well."

A third put: "I'm gonna miss you guys... Avengers forever."

While another added: "Our tickets are pre booked alredi cnt wait only thing is we cudnt get it for the 26th but it's on the 27th instead so im stayin off of social media for that day!!#nospoilers."

He should probably use the seven days learning how to spell to be fair.

"Less than a week now until I'll have seen, #AvengersEndgame," wrote yet another excited and slightly more literate fan.

Ahead of its release, the directors of the film Joe and Anthony Russo issued a heartfelt plea in the form of a letter asking fans not to ruin it for anyone by dropping spoilers.

Sharing the full letter on social media, along with the hashtag #DontSpoilTheEndgame the brothers implored their fans not to ruin anyone else's experience by having loose tongues about the final instalment in this MCU chapter.

The letter reads: "To the greatest fans in the world, this is it. This is the end. The end of an unprecedented narrative mosaic spanning eleven years and eleven franchises.

Endgame is set to smash all box office records.

"Giving so freely of your thoughts and emotions in spirited dialogue, theories, fan art, and fan fiction. Please know that the two of us, along with everyone involved in Endgame, have worked tirelessly for the last three years with the sole intention of delivering a surprising and emotionally powerful conclusion to the Infinity Saga."
