This Morning today provided you with a glimpse into your future, after featuring a 91-year-old man on the show earlier today. Watch how it unfolded here:

Widower John met Vera Burrell, 90, in a pub and he decided to take her on a £3,500 ($4,700) cruise.

"John said he and his late wife enjoyed cruising and I said I usually go on holiday on my own by coach," Vera told Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes on This Morning.

"Would you like to go on a cruise," John had asked.

"I can't afford it but he said, 'I can,'" explained Vera, a great-grandmother.

The two of them put down their pints and hit up a travel agent.

"We went in and the travel agent asked for our names and I said: 'What's your name, my dear?'" John explained.

They shared a room as they sailed round the Mediterranean, although they slept in separate beds. But they insisted no romance developed between the two of them.

"We got on extremely well," Vera explained. "John can't see so I can read him menus or the numbers of the cabin and I'm a bit tottery so he helps me stand up."

But viewers were saying just one thing after hearing of the story: FRIEND ZONE.

"£3,500 to be friend-zoned at 92. Nice try, old-timer," one viewer tweeted.

Unlucky John, mate. Worth a try though, wasn't it?

Just to show that it's not all joy and goodwill on the show in the run-up to the festive season, last week a disabled woman who saves £50 a week so that she can splash out on her children at Christmas was absolutely savaged on Twitter by This Morning viewers. Harsh.
