Tom Hanks Wants To Play The Villain In A James Bond Film

Make it happen...

Tom Hanks has revealed that he's always wanted to portray the villain in a James Bond film.

Of course, that doesn't mean that he's been slated to do so, but Hanks is keen to do it should he every receive that call.

Well, we'd all give it a crack, wouldn't we?

Whilst promoting Toy Story 4 on The Graham Norton Show this Friday night, Hanks told the Irish talk show presenter that he's always dreamt of playing a Bond baddie.

Answering the initial question about whether he was approached to play Batman, Hanks responded: "It would be comical, can you imagine me in that suit and with my voice?

"I have never been asked to be in a superhero film but would love to play a villain in a Bond movie."

You'd be brave the bet against him doing a good job of it, too. Hanks has rarely played the villain throughout his career, but he's famous for his versatility.

Hell, in his latest film he's back playing a cartoon cowboy doll. That's chops for you.

Speaking of which, Hanks also told Norton about his sadness at recording his last every line as Woody.

This is supposed to be the last ever Toy Story film, you see.

Hanks explained: "It was terrible. I started recording Woody in 1991 and each film takes about four years. It was my very last session and when I'd said the last line they said, 'Okay, great, thanks', and just like that 24 years was over.

"All I could say was 'Oh my, oh my' over and over again and my bottom lip started quivering. I got in my car and drove away with the music playing and the credits rolling in my head."

That being said, it's not all been fun and games. The Castaway star also revealed that it's pretty tough recording Woody's lines.

He added: "I never began a recording session without wishing it was already over. Woody is clenched all the time. It's exhausting."

Well, it looks like it has been worth it. The 'final' Toy Story flick came out last week and has so far been pretty positively received.

So much so that - when asked - Hanks has not been able to completely rule out that there will be further outings for the inanimate animated toy characters.

To be fair, they've already got enough of Hanks' voice recorded to put it together without him. When asked about this possibility on Norton's show, Hanks responded: "I keep begging them to do that!"

Well, maybe they'll cast a cartoon cowboy as the villain in the next James Bond.

Stranger things have happened...
