Tom Hardy has revealed some plot details for the upcoming Venom movie, as well as promising fans to give the role his all.

The actor has been on an intense workout and diet plan ahead of the role, with recently released photos showing Hardy looking to be in impressive shape.

Now, he's revealed a little bit more about the film, saying that the film is based on the Venom: Lethal Protector comic miniseries. Speaking at the Sao Paulo Comic Con Hardy promised to deliver the best Eddie Brock/Eddie he can.

In the pre-recorded statement, he said: "As a pro and as a Dad, I promise to deliver you the best Eddie Brock/Venom I can; because I know how important it is to the fans and to the Marvel Universe and to the awesome team that is working super hard to deliver day and night out here in Atlanta right now."

The Lethal Protector series started off with Eddie Brock moving to San Francisco follow a truce between him and Spider-Man. He sets himself up as anti-hero, rather than a villain, however the Life Foundation are quick to track down Venom.

The Life Foundation want to use Brock's symbiote to create five spawns - Agony, Phage, Scream, Riot, Lasher. According to reports, it's here where villain Carnage - played by Riz Ahmed - is likely to come in.

The role was previously played by Topher Grace in the 2007 Spider-Man 3, and I think it's fair assume to that Hardy's Venom will be a little darker.

Fans have still got quite a wait to find out how the movie going to play out, though, Venom is due to be released on 5 October 2018.
