You sit down after a long, crappy week at work and stick Netflix on, ready to dive head-first into a new series. But then you remember you've finished You, Sex Education and every single true crime doc that the streaming service has thrown at you. So what's next?

Well, how about The Umbrella Academy, the adaptation of the comic books series of the same name by My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way and Gabriel ?

Starring the likes of Ellen Page, Robert Sheehan, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Aidan Gallagher and Mary J. Blige, the story revolves around a dysfunctional band of 'estranged siblings with extraordinary powers', who are reunited by their father's death - a mystery that they must solve together.

According to IOL, during a recent press junket, showrunner Steve Blackman described the show as 'a dysfunctional family with a body count'.

The series stars the likes of Ellen Page, Robert Sheehan, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Aidan Gallagher and Mary J. Blige.

"At its heart it's a dysfunctional family show," he explained.

"Having special abilities are wonderful, but that's really just the incendiary part of it. I think it's this family coming together, regrouping, finding each other ... that for me was the sole vision."

Already, the reception has been pretty positive, with many people to Twitter to admit they binged on the whole thing in no time at all.

"I watched The Umbrella Academy in a day and a half and now I have to wait a whole year for more," one person confessed.

"Can't stop won't stop #UmbrellaAcademy," another said.

"My word Umbrella Academy is brilliant! Go! Go watch now!" someone else wrote.

Okay, so what if you're one of the many who accidentally watched the whole thing in one evening? When will the next fix be?

While Netflix always likes to keep its cards close to its chest, Robert Sheehan - who stars as Klaus Hargreeves/Number Four - has said the show's creators are already 'developing' ideas for a follow-up series.

"A few little ideas have been thrown around, absolutely," he told Collider.

"I know that it's Netflix's way wait until something has come out because it has to be seen before they will officially commission, but I know that they've been developing ideas and stuff for a second [season] because they have high hopes for the series.

"They're getting ahead of themselves, which is always a good sign. So, there's definitely been some conversations had about where the family would go, for the season."
