Vin Diesel Up For Bringing Back Brian O’Conner In 'Fast And Furious' Franchise

Wasn’t that played by Paul Walker?

Well it has been a long day but I wasn't expecting this. Vin Diesel reportedly wants to bring back an iconic character to the Fast and Furious franchise.

Brian O' Conner.

Brian, played by... Paul Walker.

For those of you who have been living under a rock, Paul Walker passed away on November 30, 2013, when the Porsche he was the passenger in hit a lamppost in California.

In the movie franchise he is seen driving away into the sunset in Furious 7, clearly never to be seen again after the actor's untimely death.

Walker was a mainstay in the franchise and to bring the character back never seemed possible, never mind highly unlikely. That said, Vin Diesel appears to think it's doable.

As reported by Cinema Blend, Caleb Walker, who filled in for parts of Furious 7, along with his brother Cody, has suggested that a return is on the cards:

"I had a phone call with Vin for about an hour and we really discussed this a while back. He wanted [our] blessing. [Diesel asked if it] would be acceptable to maybe bring Paul's character back - to really kind of let his fans know he's still out there."

"Universal wants to make sure to be respectful of Paul and his image too..."

Ok, so this suggests it may just be a cameo, reminding us he's 'out there', but nonetheless it's a turn up for the books if it happens.

Surely bringing the character back would undo the poignant scene at the end of Furious 7? We can only presume his potential return would be for Furious 9, or Furious Go Back And Fight Nazis, or Furious Mother Tells Her Kid To Stop Dabbing.

What do you reckon, lads? Leave it be?

And if O'Conner does make a return, who should play him? Should it be Caleb/Cody Walker again or someone else?
