Prank Caller Keeps Calling 'The Wright Stuff' To Tell Matthew Wright That ‘Sharon Goodman Is A B***h’

Whoever Sharon Goodman is, she has really annoyed this guy and he keeps calling into Channel 5's The Wright Stuff to tell the nation about it.

Live TV is a tough gig. As Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby prove on an almost daily basis, anything can and does happen when a TV show is live, and you're only seconds away from losing all sense of professionalism and bursting out laughing at all times.

Just look at what happened on This Morning last year, when they showed up at the wrong house to try to present a prize and had the wrong woman on the phone the whole time.

Great TV, but not exactly what was supposed to happen.

Well, nobody is safe on the live daytime shift, and this week it was the turn of Matthew Wright.

Wright presents Channel 5's mid-morning talk show The Wright Stuff every weekday and takes calls from the general public on a variety of issues.

He's done the job since 2000 so he isn't exactly new to the game, but one caller proved on a couple of occasions that every day is a school day in the live chat world.

A prank caller, calling himself 'Gary' (which is probably not his real name) called up to give his two cents to a debate that Wright was having on the show about smacking children.

However, instead of contributing to proceedings, he quickly went rogue, saying: "When you were saying about the freedom of speech thing, I still say that Sharon Goodman is a bitch."

Wright quickly cut him off and apologized, saying that the caller was a 'regular abuser' of the show.

Wright said: "I can only apologise once again for the language he used and any offence caused. We are doing our very best to ensure this man does not get back on the line - he's cheated us again, I'm afraid."

Wright clearly thought that would be the end of it, and took another call - this time from 'Tom in Buckinghamshire' (which is definitely a fake name).

Interestingly enough, Tom didn't want to talk about spanking children either, and was more focused on a strongly held belief that Sharon Goodman is a bitch.

Yes, 'Gary' had got through again. He also seemed to get through a third time later in the show during another debate, just to really hammer home his feelings on Sharon Goodman.

This time Wright appealed to his better nature, saying: "If you carry on like this you're going to have me taken off air, which would be a great tragedy for the hundreds of thousands of people who enjoy this show."

All of this begs the question: Who is Sharon Goodman and what has she done to deserve this kind of slandering on live television?

The answer is probably a topic better suited to Jeremy Kyle than The Wright Stuff.
