Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly have teamed up once again, but this time they're taking on the roles of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson.

Sony Pictures Entertainment

The film marks the the third time that the Stepbrothers stars have acted alongside each other, as they prepare to leave audiences in fits of laughter with Holmes and Watson.

In the new trailer, Ferrell (Sherlock Holmes) and Reilly (John Watson) try on disguises, shoot at killer bees and jump out of windows all while trying to solve a mysterious case involving the the Queen of England herself - who Watson takes a fancy to and awkwardly tells her.

When they are presented to Her Majesty, Holmes bows respectfully, but Watson gets flustered, grabs her hand and blurts out: "I love you!"

The Queen manages to yank her hand away before storming off, leaving the two men to themselves - Watson referring to her as a 'looker', before Holmes replies: "She is stunning!"

The video also features several other members of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's roster of characters, including a quick glance at a moustachioed Ralph Fiennes as Moriarty, as well as new characters such as Dr. Grace Hart (Rebecca Hall), a strong, beautiful doctor who is obviously smarter than both detectives.

If that isn't enough to entice you in, the pair also put on their best British accents - meaning they're so bad, they're hilarious.

The team of Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly have given audiences some classic comedy films including Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and, of course, Step Brothers.

However, with this new film they will be operating without their usual director Adam McKay, who directed both of the aforementioned films.

It's surreal to think the duo teamed up an entire decade ago with Step Brothers. Yes, it was ten whole years ago since we were introduced to Dale and Brennan, the fine specimen of LADs they were.

After we saw Dale and Brennan smash it at the Catalina Wine Mixer, we've been left wondering what became of them. Is Brennan still with his hot therapist? Is the karaoke business still going strong? Most importantly, is that epic boat-treehouse still there?

There were rumours floating around that there could be a sequel in the future. However, until we see a trailer and release date we can at least get excited the pair will be taking the big screen when Holmes and Watson is released on December 21 - the perfect comedic Christmas present.
